Digital Photography Masterclass - New for 2013/14

This course is aimed at students who have attended courses at an advanced level and wish to take their photography one step further. The emphasis on this course differs from previous courses as it will encourage students to perfect the area/s of photography they are most interested in. In addition, there will be a brand new range of topics covered each week, these will include the following. As ever, a degree of flexibility is built into each course.

  • Photoshop - what's new in the latest versions and how to use it to make a big difference to your images
  • Sports photography
  • Low light photography
  • Street Photography
  • Portraiture - the importance of pose
  • Light trails
  • Product/food photography
  • Performance photography*
  • Artistic nude*
  • Creative studio lighting

* These options would incur an additional charge and would only form part of the course if the entire class is in agreement.

Will I need to buy expensive software?

No. The course uses Adobe Photoshop Elements, an affordable programme which is initially available as a free download. Your tutor will advise you on which package is best suited to your requirements.

Will I need to buy an expensive camera?

No. However, students whose cameras cannot shoot in raw or have shutter and aperture priority will be at a disadvantage.

Do I need anything else?

Although it’s not compulsory, you will find it useful to have access to a tripod.
