Digital Photography – Beginners

 

This course is aimed at students with little or no experience of digital photography. All you need to do the course are a few basic computer skills.

 

The course runs for ten weeks* and includes:

 

  • Understanding your camera - what everything does and how you can set up your camera to take better pictures
  • An introduction to Photoshop - get the most out of your images by enhancing them on the computer
  • Practical projects - improve your photography by understanding the basics of composition and lighting

 

FAQs

 

 

Will I need to buy expensive software?

 

No. The course uses Adobe Photoshop Elements, an affordable programme which is initially available as a free download. Your tutor will advise you on which package is best suited to your requirements.

 

Will I need to buy an expensive camera?

 

No. However, students with basic point and shoot cameras will miss out on part of lesson 3 which covers some of the more advanced camera controls.
