This course is aimed at students who have attended a beginners course or are already familiar with how to use their camera and understand how to use Photoshop Elements at a basic level.

 

The course runs for ten weeks, each week you will carry out a project on an aspect of digital photography. The options available include:

 

  •          Photoshop based projects
  •          Image analysis
  •          Using Raw
  •          Landscapes
  •          HDR (High Dynamic Range)
  •          Indoor lighting
  •          Portraiture
  •          Night photography
  •          Panoramas and planets
  •          Various outdoor projects
  •          Audio visual presentation of images
  •          Photo restoration
  •          Still Life

FAQs

 

Will I need to buy expensive software?

 

No. The course uses Adobe Photoshop Elements, an affordable programme which is initially available as a free download. Your tutor will advise you on which package is best suited to your requirements.

 

Will I need to buy an expensive camera?

 

No. However, students whose cameras cannot shoot in raw will miss out on part of the session on using camera raw.

 

Do I need anything else?

 

Although it’s not compulsory, you will find it useful to have access to a tripod.
